Hello, and here I am at last blogging away for Blakesley Bears when time and the inclination permits- we bears are very laid back (some call it lazy) I have to admit. There is uproar in the Blakesley Bear household this week. First several of the smaller bears got into trouble for staying up very late on Wednesday night trying to bid for last minute tickets on the Olympic Games Booking Website. There were howls and tantrums when the Olympic site crashed just before the deadline. Of course I consoled them and got them into bed by promising they could buy tickets nearer the date but now it emerges the orders for tickets were oversubscribed 4 to 1 so there was wholesale weeping and nashing of teeth when they realised they weren't going to be able to go to ANYTHING AT ALL! So if anyone has any spare FENCING Tickets to sell please Bear us in mind! Luckily The Royal Wedding is a marvellous distraction from their Olympian Woes ( and much better organised by the looks of it!) For the last couple of days Bears draped in Flags and Bunting have been rehearsing on the lawn, The bride ( s) and groom( s) racing each other in carriages from one end of the lawn to the other, pulled by Steiff Horse and Steiff Zebra ( who stood in to make up the numbers) waving to the crowd of Bears ,who played their part scattering confetti and cheering wildly. To add to the pandemonium 4 huge Pea-Hens, who have taken up residence in the neighbourhood recently , perched on an adjoining rooftop and honked and squawked a commentary at the spectacle of all the bears out in the sunshine making merry. Talk about a din! Such fun and my best wishes to Prince William and Kate on their forthcoming nuptuals which should be a darn sight quieter ( I expect!) Off to read the paper, catch you laters!
